All three quality factors of cut, colour and clarity can affect the value and beauty of a diamond.
Carat weight: refers to the standard unit of weight for diamonds and is measured using precise electronic scales.
Colour: refers to the GIA colour scale which goes from ‘D’ to ‘Z’. Colour grades are established in a lab using master comparison diamonds and each letter grade refers to a range of colour.
Clarity: refers to internal and external blemishes within or on a diamond under standard 10x magnification. We use the GIA clarity scale which goes from FL (Flawless) to I3.
Cut: refers to the proportions and finish of a diamond that affect the overall appearance and quality of a diamond. We use the GIA cut scale from poor to excellent.
